Analysis of One-Dimensional Consolidation Considering Non-Darcian Flow Described by Non-Newtonian Index Incorporating Impeded Drainage Boundaries

The nonlinear flow law and soil boundaries greatly affect the dissipation process of consolidation. Thus, to study impact under impeded drainage boundaries, classical non-Darcian model described by non-Newtonian index was introduced. numerical solutions are derived in detail finite difference method (FDM) for one-dimensional (1-D) consolidation incorporating computer program is compiled. Then, comparing two analytical based on Darcy’s a case Forchheimeer’s flow, validity present verified. results indicate that there critical depth phenomenon boundaries. excess pore water pressure below dissipates more slowly than law, whereas above quickly law. Moreover, considering with will still delay overall rate soft ground, greater nondimensional parameter I0 is, obvious lagging is.
